london 2012

sorry new york, not 2012. sorry paris, for being snobbed by the international olympic committee for the third time -- first in 92 (barcelona) then for 2008 (beijing). this year's race to host the olympics is considered as "the most glamorous and hotly-contested bid race in olympic history."

when the dust settled, and after the fourth balloting was over, the winner emerged: the games of the 30th olympiad will be held in london!

aside from paris and new york, moscow and madrid also placed their bids to host the biggest gathering of sports heroes in the world.
